Privacy policy

GibTalk doesn't collect or store any of your data, or track how you use it. There's no account, no login, no analytics, no advertising, and no cookies or unique identifiers.

Your words and pictures

Everything you add stays on your device: your words, their pictures and any photos you take. GibTalk works offline. Nothing is uploaded.

Backups are files saved on your device. Where they go after that is up to you.

When GibTalk goes online

• Searching symbols sends your search words to the GibTalk symbols server (api-gibtalk.apps.bancuh.net, also reachable as api.gibtalk.ragib.my) and downloads the matching pictures. Searches aren't linked to you, and there's no account to link them to.
• Templates are downloaded from GibTalk's public GitHub repository when you open the Templates screen. Their pictures come from the same symbols server.
• Speaking words uses your device's built-in text-to-speech.

As with any website, those servers can see your IP address when your device downloads from them.

This website

gibtalk.com has no analytics and no cookies. The symbol search on this site sends your search words to the same symbols server. The template builder runs in your browser: the words and photos you add aren't uploaded, and your work in progress is kept only in your browser's storage.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here, with a new date at the top.
